What an honor to receive a letter from one of our former patients! Dr. J was humbled to receive such kind words!
I do not expect you to remember me, but you were my primary dentist from the age of 4 to age 19, and it was awesome. I just wanted to take a moment and write you to thank you for everything!
You see, as many kids do, I took you and your practice for granted. I took for granted how gentle and kind you and all of your staff always were. I took for granted how accommodating you were and how friendly everyone was. I took for granted your ability to communicate with your patients and their families, even my grandmother. I didn’t take the time to appreciate that you always knew my name and made conversation with me, and even with my grandma. Going to the dentist can be frightening, no matter what your age. Now that I am 26 and having to see a “grown-up’s” dentist, I realize how lucky I was to have you as my dentist for 15+ years. I try to incorporate many of those characteristics you taught me into my daily nursing practice in the emergency department. Thank you for being a good role model and the best dentist I have ever met!
Thank you Dr. Rhodes,
P.S. And to all of the kids and future patients of Dr. Rhodes: You have it made! You won’t find a better dentist (I can guarantee there isn’t a better one between Bentonville and Russellville for sure! I’ve looked.) Don’t take him for granted! He and his staff don’t have to be kind and gentle. They don’t have to go the extra mile to not pinch your lip or make sure you that retractor is comfortable. They don’t have to make funny sounds while numbing you up to help take away some of the sting. But they do because they love their jobs and care about you! It’s hard to find a great dentist like Dr. Rhodes. And when that bad day comes that you are off of your parents’ insurance or you get married and have to say goodbye to Dr. Rhodes and crew, know that you have your work cut out for you trying to find a “grown-up’s” dentist half as good as him. Enjoy it!
