Meet Our Doctors

Smile Shoppe is proud that all of our dentists are board certified! This means that they have gone through hours of testing through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. The Board bases certificates on the highest standards of dental care for children of all ages and needs. We dedicate our lives to providing the highest-quality pediatric dental care in a caring, relaxed setting.

Jeffrey D. Rhodes, DDS MS - Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Jeffrey D. Rhodes, or Dr. J, is a 1984 graduate of Austin College in Sherman, TX. He graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1988. Then, he completed specialty training in pediatric dentistry in 1990. He has completed specialty fellowships at Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. While at Baylor College of Dentistry he published research in growth and development of young children’s faces. In addition, he has taught dental students at Baylor College of Dentistry, and is now teaching pediatric dental residents at Jordan Valley Community Center in Springfield, MO.

His special interests lie in the growth and development of children’s smiles. He is passionate about ensuring children receive education on how to have healthy, beautiful smiles for life.

Dr. J is also active in the community, serving on many boards, such as the Corporate Leadership Council of the Walton Arts Center. He grew up in Dallas, but has been coming to Northwest Arkansas his whole life to visit family.

Emily Fourmy, DDS - Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Emily Fourmy, or Dr. Emily, is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee in 2010. In 2012, she completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Emily has also completed fellowships at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, as well as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In addition, she did a teaching fellowship at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.

Dr. Emily has also gone through special training to work with physically and mentally challenged patients. Because of her work at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, she has learned how to work with patients of all needs.

Most of all, she loves to work with children, and she devotes herself to providing healthy smiles for life. Dr. Emily is a native of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Amanda Hankins, DDS - Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Amanda Hankins, or Dr. Amanda, is a 2010 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas. She graduated from the University Of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2014. Then, she completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry.

She also attended Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. While she was there, she gained the knowledge and training needed to help children who have experienced dental emergencies. She also received the skills necessary to care for special needs patients.

Dr. Amanda loves working with children and helping them receive healthy smiles for life. Dr. Amanda is a native of Russellville, AR.

Andrew Burriss, DDS - Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Andrew Burriss, or Dr. Andrew, is a 2009 graduate of The Ohio State University. He graduated from the University Of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2013. Following graduation he work for two years in private practice in Collierville, Tennessee.

He then completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at Bon Secours St. Mary’s of Richmond. While he was there, he gained an appreciation for the importance of education for the prevention of dental disease in children. He also received the skills necessary to care for special needs patients.

Dr. Andrew looks forward to working with children everyday and wants to give every child the foundation for long lasting healthy smile for years to come. Dr. Andrew is a native of Collierville, TN.

Brian Platt, DDS - Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Brian grew up in Little Rock and went to the University of Arkansas where he received his Bachelors degree. He then went on to Dental School at the University of Tennessee-Health science center, and then he completed his residency at Baylor College of Dentistry.

Dr. Brian moved back to Northwest Arkansas because he fell in love with the area during college and has been amazed with the amount of growth and development since then. He loves all of the outdoor activities, but what really drove his decision was being close to his beloved Razorbacks. Go Hogs! He moved back to NWA with his newly married wife-Leah, and is excited to carry on the tradition of dentistry in his family, as both his father and brother practice dentistry in Arkansas.

Dr. Brian wanted to become a dentist because his father is a dentist so it was always on his mind growing up. He wanted to become a pediatric dentist because having the ability to meet the needs of many children really resonated with his heart. The combination of his love for dentistry and his passion for serving kids and their families lead him down the path of becoming a pediatric dentist!
