At Smile Shoppe Pediatric Dentistry, we use laser dentistry for cosmetic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures. Lasers reduce bacteria in gums, which also decreases cold sores, ulcers, and sensitive teeth. We can also use lasers to treat decaying teeth to avoid using the strong medications.
At our office, we never use silver-mercury amalgam fillings. Instead, we use composite fillings to fill cavities. Composite fillings restore teeth’s natural beauty. We can match fillings to your child’s teeth color for a natural look. Our composites are incredibly durable and stain resistant as well.
Sealants strengthen the surface of the teeth to prevent tooth decay. As your child’s permanent teeth erupt, we can fill the tiny grooves on tooth surfaces to seal the tooth and protect it from plaque and bacteria. If your child is prone to cavities, we may seal primary teeth as well.
What is Sleep Disordered Breathing?
Sleep disordered breathing refers to abnormal breathing that creates disturbances while asleep. It refers to a broad range of symptoms and Sleep Apnea is the most severe form. The most common cause is airway obstruction, and the most common airway obstructions are tonsils/adenoid overgrowth or allergies.
